Redhead

Artwork Description

This handsome bird in modern grey and red colours is the male Gang-gang Cockatoo, native to the woodlands of south-eastern Australia. The male has a very distinctive red crest. The name "gang-gang" comes from a New South Wales Aboriginal language, and this bird is the faunal emblem of the Australian Capital Territory.
