An Autumn Moment

Artwork Description

Red-Browed Finches are wonderful little birds, locally found in Brisbane bushland near where I live. This drawing is based on observing and photographing them feeding on Kangaroo Grass seeds. The birds appear animated and alive, and the delicate grass stems seem to bend in the breeze as they perform tiny acrobatics on the grass to reach the seeds.Drawn on tinted paper in colour pencil, and details were outlined ink pen.The Red-browed Finch occurs mostly east of the Great Dividing Range, between Cape York in Queensland and the Mount Lofty Ranges in South Australia
